302/365 - DJ Rodzilla and Monika

302/365 - DJ Rodzilla and Monika

May 29, 2014.  The Fabulous Ladies of Fitness threw a Spring Formal, er Flormal, and Rodzilla DJ'ed.  Then Monika snatched control, and the party went to a whole new level. People screamed, there was smoke and confetti, Nicolas Cage fought a Valley Dude, and space aliens started breakdancing. And all the teenagers there might now be parents. Monika realized her power was too awesome, so she relinquished the cans.

301/365 - Hermitage Sixteen11

May 28, 2014.  There was once a gas station at the corner of Hermitage and North Avenue, but now there's a condo building in progress. Apparently there's one unit left! I don't think it will be ready to move into very soon, though, so you may want to look elsewhere.

300/365 - Nap

May 27, 2014.  Once again, lunch took place in the Art Institute's South Garden. The corner bench, which I've posted before, had a girl lying on her back and using her phone. She never dropped it on her face though, so I went with the center bench and this resting fellow.

299/365 - Open The Door

May 26, 2014.  Elsie and Sam didn't really feel like hanging out in the yard. Here they wait for me to open the door while I just hang out the window snapping photos. So cruel!

298/365 - Sit

298/365 - Sit

May 25, 2014.  These are two of the beasts in my care over the weekend. Elsie and Sam did not readily sit, and didn't stay long when they did. They were side by side at first, but they would take turns getting up and moving forward. I managed to snap a couple of frames while they were both sitting, and having felt like I accomplished something, we then continued our walk. They must have felt like they accomplished something, too, because they were really riled up when we started moving again.

297/365 - Backyard Structure

May 24, 2014.  I'm housesitting over the weekend while I have friends in what I think of as my hometown, Austin, Texas. This is the view from my friend Amy's backyard. Exciting, isn't it? There are so many kids, even more, it seems, than in my neighborhood. They make me nervous.

296/365 - Unhappy Birthday

296/365 - Unhappy Birthday

May 23, 2014.  Midwest Live and Loud Weekend, a three-day punk festival, kicked off at the Bottom Lounge with my band Squared Off. It was a blast, with several good bands, some of them Texans I haven't seen in years. The girl in the middle of this photo was marking her twenty-fifth birthday, which apparently made her sad. It looked to me like her "worst birthday ever" was going pretty well. Psh, kids these days, thinking twenty-five is the end. An addition to my busted cameras saga: the built-in flash on my G11 doesn't work at all after being dropped, and my external flash doesn't always expose properly. Without an LCD screen, I can't tell what happened until I get home, so many of my pictures look like they occurred during a nuclear explosion according to science fiction films.
