March 4, 2014. My only photo of the day where Mardi Gras was in evidence was taken in the morning, when I found Amy in a Carnival mask delivering paczki for Uber, the ride-sharing service. Paczki are Polish donuts, and Paczki Day is the same day as Mardi Gras, the day before Ash Wednesday. The Polish population and influence in Chicago is so large that Paczki Day seems to be the most prominent way to celebrate Fat Tuesday.
