July 1, 2014. The US played Belgium in the first knockout round of the World Cup, and someone saw fit to drape many of the sculptures in this park with red, blue, and silver star-spangled tinsel. One grumpy jerk took exception and had to talk to a few people about it, including us. He pulled two of them off and threw them angrily at the ground. I hope he stubbed his toe on a curb shortly after.
